Meet Kathryn
How do you say "Kueppers?" Kathryn on the Miss America stage presenting her social impact initiative, The Invisible Crown
|
Kathryn Kueppers, a Saint Paul native and creator of The Invisible Crown Productions and online resource, is an outspoken advocate for the Miss America Organization. Recognized as the largest provider of scholarship assistance for women in the world, the Miss America Organization celebrated its 100th milestone anniversary in 2021. Still today there are many misconceptions about the benefits and relevancy of competitions such as this.
With the goal to bring renewed awareness of the opportunities offered to women by the Miss America Organization, Kathryn created this online resource for candidates, volunteers, sponsors, and fans. She has produced original YouTube videos; written blogs; compiled news and history; and provides resources for women wishing to learn more. Speaking to community organizations around the state, Kathryn shares her personal stories of being a candidate, as she promotes the benefits young women gain from competing in this program. When women discover they are awarded scholarships to help reach their educational and professional goals, Miss America becomes alive to them! In 2022, Kathryn followed her heart and calling and became a FOCUS Missionary. She has now been sharing her personal testimony of faith and how it has led her to the full-filling missionary work she is doing. FOCUS is a Catholic collegiate outreach with the mission to share the hope and joy of the Gospel with college and university students. FOCUS missionaries train in Church teachings of prayer, Scripture, evangelization and discipleship. Each team works to encounter college students in friendship, inviting them to grow deeper in their faith and to pursue lives of virtue and excellence. Kathryn's missionary work has moved her to Oxford, Ohio, where she serves college students at Miami University. She and her fellow FOCUS missionaries are excited for the work they are doing at Miami University, and you can always find them planning their next event at the Newman Center near campus. |
More about Miss Minnesota . . .
In June of 2019, Kathryn won the title of Miss Minnesota 2019. She was a double preliminary winner capturing both the talent and the evening wear/social impact statement awards. Fun Fact: Kathryn is the daughter of a former Miss Minnesota, and they are the first mother / daughter state titleholders ever in Minnesota, and only the 11th mother /daughter state titleholders in the nearly 100 year history of the Miss America competition.
Perhaps the more interesting fact for the history books, is that due to the pandemic and the cancellation of the Miss America competition in 2020, Kathryn holds the record for the longest serving Miss Minnesota in history... a record 734 days!
