Meet Kathryn.
How do you say "Kueppers?" |
Kathryn Kueppers, a Saint Paul native and creator of The Invisible Crown Productions and online resource, is an outspoken advocate for the Miss America Organization. Recognized as the largest provider of scholarship assistance for women in the world, the Miss America Organization is celebrating its 100th milestone anniversary. Still today there are many misconceptions about the benefits and relevancy of competitions such as this.
In 2018, the Miss America Organization made the decision to eliminate the swimsuit phase of competition. For women wishing to improve their lives through education and community service, many candidates have welcomed this change. With the goal to bring renewed awareness of the opportunities offered to women by the Miss America Organization, Kathryn created this online resource for candidates, volunteers, sponsors, and fans. She has produced original YouTube videos; written blogs; compiled news and history; and provides resources for women wishing to learn more. Speaking to community organizations around the state, Kathryn shares her personal stories of being a candidate, as she promotes the benefits young women gain from competing in this program. When women discover they are awarded scholarships to help reach their educational and professional goals, Miss America becomes alive to them! |
In June of 2019, Kathryn won the title of Miss Minnesota 2019. She was a double preliminary winner capturing both the talent and the evening wear/social impact statement awards. Fun Fact: Kathryn is the daughter of a former Miss Minnesota, and they are the first mother / daughter state titleholders ever in Minnesota, and only the 11th mother /daughter state titleholders in the nearly 100 year history of the Miss America competition.
Perhaps the more interesting fact for the history books, is that due to the pandemic and the cancellation of the Miss America competition in 2020, Kathryn holds the record for the longest serving Miss Minnesota in history... a record 734 days!
