Cottage Grove, MN Miss Minnesota 2019, Kathryn Kueppers [LINK] is among the first 50 woman in the history of Miss America to serve a second year as an official state representative. The Miss America Organization announced the delay of the national competition until next year due to the world-wide impact of COVID-19. Presently, all state competitions under the Miss America Organization have been postponed until 2021. This week, Ms. Kueppers would have crowned Miss Minnesota 2020 at the annual state competition.
Ms. Kueppers has announced she is honored to hold the title and responsibilities of Miss Minnesota through the summer of 2021, when she will crown her successor.
The announcement of the postponement of the National Competition also affects current local titleholders, who would have competed for Miss Minnesota 2020 this week. Each of the 24 candidates has agreed to extend their titles through next year, to compete for Miss Minnesota 2021. Next year’s winner will move on to compete for Miss America, which will be celebrating its milestone 100-year anniversary.
